About

I am a SharePoint Specialist for Sapient Government Services, based out of Arlington Virginia.

While my focus is everything SharePoint, my main focus is SharePoint development. I believe .net best practices, as well as SharePoint best practices, need to be adhered to when developing custom solutions for the SharePoint platform. Even though my title and focus is SharePoint, I still make sure I work on all the aspects of .net development (as developing is my favorite thing to do).

My education is from Virginia Polytechnic and State University (Virigina Tech) with a degreen in Business Information Technology. After graduating I started working for smaller companies with various technologies (AS400, DB2, SQL Server, Visual Basic, etc…). As soon as .net came out I decided to teach myself because I saw it emerging as the “new” technology at the time. Soon there after I moved on to Bearing Point where I grew my .net programming capabilities. While at Bearing Point I built applications for the Department of State. These applications included the Consulate System used at Department of State offices throughout the world and the United States registration system for visiting foreign companies. My time at Bearing Point taught me the advantage of good object-oriented programming and laid the baseline for how I program today.

After Bearing Point I moved on to RDA Corporation. In my years at RDA I grew into an architect type (even though my title was Project Manager). I architected, designed, and develop multiple .net applications and SharePoint sites for large clients throughout the United States. I even architected, designed, and developed applications for Microsoft.

After 5 years at RDA, I decided to make a move to Sapient Government Services in order to become a SharePoint Specialist. My job as a SharePoint Specialist is to architect SharePoint sites for different teams throughout the government services sector of Sapient.
